.DISCUSSION...
Despite spotty showers earlier this week, the lack of significant
rainfall over the past month for most locations has led to flash
drought conditions. No rain is expected through the next week. The
dry conditions, along with low afternoon humidity, especially
today and Saturday, will continue to promote the drying of fuels
across the region. Minimum RH values in the 20 to 30 percent range
today and Saturday will rise a little into the 25 to 40 percent
range Sunday through next week. Although winds will be less than
10 mph, the drying fuels may create elevated fire weather
conditions through the next week, especially near and east of the
I-35 corridor where fuels are more drought stressed.
