Tropical Storm Alberto located in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico will continue to bring tropical moisture to the area today with pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall expected. Average amounts range from 1 to 3 inches with locally higher totals possible which may cause isolated flooding. Although drought conditions in area streams could help minimize flooding impacts, some locations are expected to experience dangerous run- off conditions with rapid rises in streams and creeks possible, especially in the southern portion of the area. A Flood Watch is in effect for the southern portions of the area today and tonight. A Tornado Watch in effect until 7 AM CDT across Atascosa, Dewitt and Karnes counties as a brief isolated tornado may be possible through tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. A Flood Watch continues through Thursday for the southern portions of the area where continued tropical moisture may bring moderate to heavy rainfall which could cause isolated flooding. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not anticipated. $$
