  Thursday, but severe weather and flooding are not anticipated.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Tuesday)

Isolated instances of drizzle or very sprinkles from the low clouds
will be possible through daybreak but by and large most places will
stay dry through the short term (today-Tuesday). Cloud cover this
morning will linger through at least mid-day before slowly
eroding; similar sky cover trends anticipated early Tuesday
morning. Surface high pressure remaining across the Mid-Atlantic
and extending southward will keep a wedge-like pattern in place
and mid- level ridging will build aloft. Thus, mostly dry weather
for North and Central Georgia through Tuesday. Erosion of cloud
cover will allow for temperatures to climb into the 70s (outside
of the mountains) by the afternoon. Low temperatures each day will
be in the 50s to low 60s. Easterly winds will also remain breezy
with occasional gusts up to 20 MPH.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through Sunday)

The long term period picks up on Tuesday night with Georgia
underneath strengthening southwesterly flow aloft ahead of a
longwave trough extending from the Upper Midwest towards the Lower
Mississippi River Valley. Advection of deep moisture within this
flow regime will have dewpoints in the mid 60s and precipitable
water values between 1.5-1.8 inches by early Wednesday morning. As a
surface low associated with the trough advances across the Great
Lakes, a cold front will extend into the Southeast and move from
west to east towards Georgia. Forcing ahead of the front and the
moist, unstable airmass will support widespread rain across the
forecast area.

Rain chances are expected to increase across west Georgia during the
morning and spread into east Georgia by the evening. Considering the
aforementioned dewpoints and temperatures rising into the mid to
upper 70s in north Georgia and low 80s in central Georgia, there
will be sufficient instability to support scattered thunderstorms.
Widespread severe weather is not expected at this time with stronger
dynamics associated with this system likely to be displaced well
north of the forecast area. Rainfall amounts are currently forecast
to be between 1-2 inches in north Georgia and 0.5-1 inch in central
Georgia. The parent low pressure system will become vertically
stacked on Thursday, leading the front to become occluded before
entering Georgia. Because of this and building high pressure,
temperatures are anticipated to remain a few degrees above normal
even in the wake of the front in the later parts of the week, with
highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Continued widespread low VFR cigs ranging 3-6kft with some
occurrences of MVFR cigs at and around all sites through 15z.
Timing on scattering/lifting of cigs is somewhat uncertain but
suspect this will be between 15-18z. Iso DZ will be possible
tonight but most remain dry. ENE to ESE wind 7-12kts with
occasional gusts up to 20kts.
