.KEY MESSAGES...

  - Thunderstorms are possible again this afternoon with threats
    being strong winds, locally heavy rainfall, and frequent
    lightning across portions of central Georgia.

  - Heat impacts will be felt again across portions of central
    Georgia this afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect this
    afternoon as heat indices climb above 105.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Thursday)

An overall less active pattern is expected through the short term.
For the afternoon, a heat advisory is in effect for the far southern
portions of the CWA. That`s also where we`ll find the most likely
chance to see afternoon thunderstorms as a boundary settles across
central Georgia. The best chance for severe weather will likely be
south of our CWA, but a few storms could contain damaging winds and
frequent lightning.

Generally less oppressive temperatures are expected this afternoon
for most of the CWA, save for the far south where apparent
temperatures are expected to rise into Heat Advisory territory. The
rest of the CWA will see highs in the upper 80s and low 90s but with
dewpoints in the 60s making it feel a lot more comfortable than what
we`ve seen over the past few days.

This trend will continue as we go into the second half of the work
week, with pleasant temperatures and minimal chances of afternoon
thunderstorms over the next 36 hours.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through Tuesday)

By Saturday, the next frontal boundary moves into western GA just
before daybreak. Models still indicate the system to be pretty well
organized by the time it reaches the GA/AL border so it`s something
we`ll need to keep an eye on the threat it poses over the next few
days. The front stalls out and sets us up to return to a pattern of
afternoon thunderstorms. With it being a source of lift through the
weekend and into the start of next week, a few storms in the
afternoon could become strong to severe.

Temperatures through the rest of the long term should remain below
heat advisory criteria, though the trend is for them to gradually
increase through next week. Expect highs in the upper 80s and low
90s; regulated in part by at least some cooling during the
afternoon.

VFR through TAF period. A few cu have popped up under the broader
high level cigs this afternoon. Winds are NW at 5-10 kts. Skies
should clear after sunset and winds will fall to 3-6 kts. Winds
pick up again tomorrow after sunrise from WNW to NW at 5-10 kts
with afternoon cu field expected.
