.DISCUSSION...
Hazardous fire weather conditions are not expected at this time.
Relative humidity values will remain above critical thresholds.
Relative humidity values will continue to increase across the
area ahead of an approaching front. Minimum RH values this
afternoon will largely range from 60-70 percent, with the highest
values in north Georgia. Winds will be SE at 10-15 mph with gusts
of 20-25 mph in areas north of I-85 and E at 8-12 mph with gusts
up to 20 mph in areas to the south. Mostly cloudy skies will
somewhat limit mixing heights, which will peak between
2.5-3.5 kft this afternoon.
Scattered showers will begin to move into west Georgia late
tonight into Wednesday morning. These showers will become
widespread by Wednesday afternoon, with scattered thunderstorms
also expected. Rainfall amounts on Wednesday and Thursday are
largely expected to range from 1-2 inches north of I-85 and
0.5-1 inch to the south. Winds will be SE through the day,
between 10-15 mph with gusts of 20- 25 mph in the morning and
decreasing to 5-10 mph in the afternoon.
