.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values and winds will remain outside of
critical thresholds.
The coverage of afternoon thunderstorms is expected to be
significantly less than we`ve seen over the past few weeks. The
best chance for rain and thunder this afternoon will be in the
higher elevations of NE Georgia, though scattered storms will be
possible for most fire zones north of I-20. Minimum RH this
afternoon will fall to between 50-65%. Winds continue to be NE at
10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20mph early this evening.
Mixing heights on average will rise to about 5k ft this afternoon
with the mountain zones being the exception where rain will limit
heights to 3k ft.
Wednesday begins the start of a dry and sunny period that will
take us into the weekend. Afternoon RH will fall to between 35-
40% with better afternoon mixing as dry air filters down from the
ENE.
