While we are initially dry in the area late this morning, this will begin to change as we head into the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will become increasingly widespread through the afternoon and evening hours, likely peaking in coverage between 4-10 PM. Still, some showers and thunderstorms will be possible both before and after this window. While widespread severe thunderstorms are not expected, a few strong storms are possible. The main concern will be frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, and wind gusts over 40 mph. Outside of any thunderstorms, warm and humid conditions will persist with heat index values maxing out around 90 degrees this afternoon. By concert time at 8 PM, expect temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds outside of any thunderstorms will be from the southwest and fairly light at 5-8 mph with a few light gusts up to 15 mph possible. .REST OF TODAY...
