.DISCUSSION...

A wedge of high pressure will overspread portions of east and north
Georgia on Tuesday, which will lead to easterly flow and increased
cloud cover over the burn site. At ignition time, skies are forecast
to be overcast with ceilings under 1000 ft. Meanwhile, relative
humidity values will be just above 90 percent. As the center of the
surface high pressure begins to move away to the northeast, the
wedge is anticipated to weaken through the morning and into the
early afternoon. Cloud cover will lift and diminish accordingly,
eventually becoming partly cloudy by 2 PM. RH values will be slow to
decrease, dropping under 80 percent by noon and between 60-70
percent by 2 PM and through the remainder of the afternoon. 20 ft
winds will be E at largely 3-5 mph, with some occasional gusts
between 9-12 mph. Transport winds will be E at 9-10 mph in the
morning and shift to SE at 7-9 mph in the afternoon. Mixing heights
will increase to above 4000 ft by mid-afternoon as the cloud cover
diminishes, peaking just above 5000 ft around 4 PM.

Cloud cover over the burn site will continue to diminish on Tuesday
night and winds will diminish to less than 3 mph. Furthermore, RH
values will increase to near 100 percent after 4 AM on Wednesday
morning. The combination of light winds, clearing skies, and a
saturated airmass will be favorable for fog development at the burn
site and across east-central Georgia on Wednesday morning. Please
feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or
concerns.
