waves that occur in a given period. Since the significant wave
height is an average of the largest waves, mariners should be
aware that many individual waves will be higher.

For Devils Lake...

.TODAY...Very windy. South winds 25 to 40 mph shifting to the
southwest 25 to 35 mph late in the afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 feet.
Showers and chance of thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy. Highs in the
60s.
.TONIGHT...Strong winds. Southwest winds 25 to 40 mph becoming
west and increasing to 40 to 55 mph in the late evening and early
morning, then decreasing to 35 to 45 mph early in the morning.
Waves 3 to 6 feet. Mostly clear in the evening then becoming
mostly cloudy. Lows in the upper 40s.
.TUESDAY...Windy. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph decreasing to
10 to 20 mph late in the afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 feet. Mostly
sunny. Highs 55 to 65.


For the Upper and Lower Red Lakes...

.TODAY...Windy. South winds 25 to 35 mph. Waves 1 foot or less
building to 2 to 4 feet. Showers in the late morning and
afternoon. Chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Mostly clear
early in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs 55 to 65.
.TONIGHT...Strong winds. South winds 25 to 35 mph increasing to
west 35 to 50 mph after midnight. Waves 3 to 5 feet building to
5 to 8 feet after midnight. Chance of showers. Mostly cloudy in
the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 50s.
.TUESDAY...Very windy. West winds 30 to 45 mph decreasing to
15 to 25 mph. Waves 5 to 8 feet subsiding to 1 to 3 feet in the
afternoon. Partly sunny. Highs 55 to 65.
