The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Tonto Creek in Gila County in east central Arizona...

* Until 445 AM MST.

* At 340 AM MST, a river gauge on Tonto Creek above Gun Creek
  reported a rise of 1.6 feet from earlier thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain upstream of Tonto Creek. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no
  additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already
  occurring.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...River gauge reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           low-water crossings, and normally dry washes.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Jakes Corner, Rye, Oak Spring Canyon and Deer Creek.

This includes the following highways...
State Route 188 between mile markers 272 and 276.
State Route 87 between mile markers 233 and 239.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
