...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT COCONINO COUNTY UNTIL 1 PM MST
/2 PM MDT/...

At 1222 PM MST /122 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong
thunderstorm 7 miles north of Marble Canyon, or 12 miles west of
Page, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Page, Stud Horse Point, Stateline Wash Slot Canyon, Glen Canyon
  Dam, Wahweap, Antelope Island, Antelope Point Marina, Trapeze Cove
  and Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.

This includes the following slot canyons...
Stateline Wash.

This includes U.S. Highway 89 between mile markers 549 and 556.

This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds...
Wahweap Campground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

If on or near Lake Powell, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
