...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWEST OF WHITERIVER IN
NAVAJO COUNTY UNTIL 6 PM MST...

At 532 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Round Top Mountain, or 20 miles south of Show Low, moving southwest
at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Round Top Mountain, Rainbow City, Cedar Creek, Kinishba Ruins,
  Deer Spring Mountain, North Fork, White Mountain Apache
  Reservation and Canyon Day.

This includes State Route 73 between mile markers 314 and 320...and
near mile marker 332...and
between mile markers 345 and 346.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
