.DISCUSSION...

Low fire danger is expected today due to light winds, seasonable
temperatures, and humidity levels above critical thresholds. High
fire danger will make a comeback to the area on Wednesday as
southerly winds strengthen with gusts up to 20-40 mph. The strongest
gusts will reside west of I-29, especially towards south central
South Dakota. Temperatures will warm a bit more to the upper 60s to
low 70s while humidity values drop to 30-40%. The lowest humidity
will lie east of I-29 and be offset from the strongest winds.
However, the high fire danger remains intact towards central and
south central South Dakota due to drying fuels.
