Rain will develop across the area by mid to late afternoon, mixed at times with sleet or snow in the late afternoon to early evening. A transition to mainly snow is expected late this evening into Tuesday morning, with light snow accumulations. Snowfall amounts up to an inch or two are possible, especially in higher elevations of the Buffalo Ridge north of Highway 30 (Pipestone to Slayton) in southwest Minnesota. If temperatures cool a degree or two more than forecast, accumulations could increase, so please continue to monitor forecast updates throughout the day. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. Light snow will linger in parts of southwest Minnesota through the Tuesday morning commute. Little additional accumulation is expected after daybreak Tuesday, but wintry travel is possible Tuesday morning. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Areas of light rain begin to develop by late morning, expanding in coverage near and northeast of a line from Huron to Sioux Falls to Spencer Iowa this afternoon.
