This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska and southeast South
Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A winter storm remains on track with increasing confidence in
impactful post-holiday travel Friday into Saturday night. A
Winter Storm Warning is in effect Friday at noon through Saturday
evening for most locations east of I-29 due to periods of moderate
to locally heavy snow. Here 6 to 10 inches of snow are possible.
Winds will be out of the southeast and slightly breezy, around 10-20
mph. Saturday winds become northerly and increase with gusts between
20-25 mph. Blowing and drifting snow is possible, especially Saturday.
Travel may become difficult as a result.

Some shifts in the area of heaviest snowfall is still possible over
the next 12 to 24 hours. Considering the strong signal for impactful
snowfall, now is the time to prepare. Continue to monitor the
forecast and be open to adjusting travel plans.

This storm system will be followed by a stretch of even colder air,
with sub-zero nighttime wind chills early next week.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Periods of light snow are expected to begin Friday morning and
continuing through Saturday. Snow gradually tapers off late Saturday
afternoon into Saturday night. Southeast winds Friday afternoon will
gust between 20-30 mph. Saturday winds become northerly and increase
gusting between 25-35 mph. Areas of blowing and drifting snow may be
possible. Be prepared for wintry travel conditions during this post-
holiday travel period.

This storm system will be followed by a stretch of even colder air,
with sub-zero nighttime wind chills early next week.
