193 FNUS63 KFSD 112033 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 333 PM CDT Sun Oct 11 2026 .DISCUSSION... A nearly stationary front remains draped across the area this afternoon. Temperatures behind the front have fallen to the 60s and 70s while temperatures ahead of the boundary are in the 80s. Southerly flow remains ahead of the boundary while northwest flow is in place behind the front, further contributing to the current temperatures across the area. The northwest flow is a bit weaker than the southerly winds, with gusts up to 20-30 mph in the southerly flow. Humidity levels are somewhat low east of the boundary, with values down to 30-40%. Thus, some elevated fire danger remains, mainly across northwest Iowa for the rest of the afternoon hours before temperatures cool and humidity increases after sunset. With the front remaining stalled out across the area through a good chunk of Monday, Monday will see a continuation of near to above normal temperatures with highs warming to the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The warmest temperatures will again occur over northwest Iowa and adjacent parts of southwest Minnesota, southeast South Dakota, and far northeast Nebraska. Humidity values will be a bit higher, only falling down to 35-50%. Winds will also be lighter with the strongest gusts in this area only reaching up to about 25 mph. Thus, low fire danger is expected though locally higher elevated fire danger remains possible. Temperatures will trend to near seasonable for the rest of the work week. Rain chances look to increase for the middle of the week, especially Wednesday night and Thursday.
