436 FNUS63 KFSD 051949 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 249 PM CDT Sun Oct 5 2025 .DISCUSSION... Grassland Fire Danger will be elevated this afternoon thanks to gusty winds at 25-30 mph. Despite minimum relative humidity values being well above critical (>40%), with grasses and crops nearly cured any fires have the potential to spread quickly. Please use caution with hot machinery, sources of sparks, and report any fires immediately. Low Fire Danger is expected for Monday with cooler temperatures, light winds, and minimum RH values >40%. Tuesday will be slightly warmer and drier with minimum RH values >30%, however winds remain light. Elevated Fire Danger is possible Wednesday as southerly winds increase to 20-25 mph and minimum RH values fall to around 30% for southwestern Minnesota and northwestern Iowa. The strongest winds will be located over central South Dakota, displaced from the lowest RH values.
