Rangeland Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD
350 PM CDT Fri Oct 2 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Increasingly breezy conditions will overspread the area heading
through tonight and into the day tomorrow. Winds tomorrow morning
will gust to 25-35 mph out of the south-southwest, with a few
gusts to around 40 mph in the higher elevations of the Coteau des
Prairies. These stronger winds should be mostly during the morning
hours, and so winds will be slowly diminishing through the
afternoon as relative humidity values reach its lowest levels
(40-60%).

Sprinkles to light rain showers will be possible north of I-90
during the day on Saturday, which will be associated with a cold
front moving across the area from west to east from the late
morning into the late afternoon. This front will turn winds to the
northwest as it moves through.
