791 FNUS63 KFSD 172149 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 449 PM CDT Fri Oct 17 2025 .DISCUSSION... Marginally breezy winds are currently being observed this afternoon with west/southwest winds gusting up to 20-25 mph. Temperatures have warmed to the 60s to low 70s while humidity values remain near and above 40%. Thus, no fire danger is expected for the rest of the afternoon. A cold front will pass through the area tomorrow morning. This will result in stronger northwest winds for the afternoon hours with northwest winds gusting up to 25-35 mph. Light rain showers will be pushing through the area throughout the day. The rain and abundant cloud cover will keep humidity values above critical thresholds. However, some elevated fire danger is possible if breaks in the clouds can warm highs a bit more than the expected temperatures peaking in the 50s and 60s. With the stronger winds in place, some elevated fire danger is possible. Temperatures will be warmer on Sunday, leading to lower humidity values. However, winds will be much weaker, keeping fire danger at bay.
