Rangeland Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD
307 AM CDT Tue Jun 15 2021

.DISCUSSION...
Well above normal temperatures continue through Thursday with the
most widespread heat expected Wednesday. This will help drive
minimum relative humidity values into the mid 20s to mid 30s each
afternoon. Dry conditions look to prevail until perhaps late
Wednesday and Thursday when a front will bring a chance of a few
thunderstorms. The chance for widespread wetting rain appears low
however.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses and other dry organic material on the
ground indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.

OUTLOOK FOR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.
