489 FXUS64 KFWD 032353 AFDFWD Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Fort Worth TX 553 PM CST Tue Nov 3 2026 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Fall-like weather is expected for the next several days following todays cold front and another front near the end of the week. - There is a low chance for fog across much of the area Thursday night into early Friday morning, ahead of the next front. && .SHORT TERM... (This evening through Wednesday) Issued at 1244 PM CST Tue Nov 3 2026 Our anticipated cold front has now moved through the region and temperatures in the 60s are in place across nearly all of North and Central Texas. Some light rain continues across our far southeast counties, but this rain will move out in the next 1-2 hours. In the skies, clouds will linger a little longer east of I-35, but should move east of the region by this evening. Some wrap around clouds associated with the large upper level trough to our north will dip into North Texas this afternoon but should also move east this evening. Breezy winds will occur this afternoon but drop to less than 10 mph around sunset. Overnight lows in the mid 40s to lower 50s are expected tonight, and for the next few nights. Wednesday will continue to feel like a fall day with highs in the lower 70s and light winds. A potential for some fog exists across roughly the eastern half of the region Wednesday night into Thursday morning, but confidence in this occurrence isnt too great at this time and will be monitored. South winds will return during this time and may quickly pull shallow moisture north ahead of our next cold front on Thursday. Our next cool front will arrive Thursday afternoon and night, but will pass by fairly quietly. Thursday will be a little warmer ahead of the front, but highs will remain in the 70s. There are currently very low chances for rain along the front, but nothing worth mentioning at this time as the best dynamics look to remain displaced to our north, away from the better moisture in our south. && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday night through next Monday) Issued at 1244 PM CST Tue Nov 3 2026 Following Thursday night-Fridays cool front, pleasant weather will carry us into the weekend. It will feel fall-like with near normal temperatures for early November. There may be some fog early Friday morning in our eastern and southeastern counties depending on the speed of the front, but otherwise dry conditions are anticipated. As we transition into next week, there is considerable uncertainty in the upper level pattern and how it will impact our region. The 12Z GFS brings a fast moving system through the Southern Plains late in the weekend, while the ECMWF is slower to move a large upper level low through the area. The chances for additional rain with either system dont look great at this time, but that could change for early next week. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 516 PM CST Tue Nov 3 2026 VFR will prevail through the period with continued northwest winds around 10 kt this evening. Any lingering gusts should diminish in the next hour or so. A deck of low clouds to the north and northeast of the major airports should continue to scatter out overnight with little impact.
