.DISCUSSION...
After low fire threat today, slightly elevated fire weather
concerns return to portions of the Big Country beginning Saturday.
Most locations will remain dry as rainfall from the remnants of
Edouard will likely remain south and east of this area. This will
keep fuels cured across the Big Country this weekend into next
week. RH values will also drop into the 25-35% range each
afternoon/evening as highs will likely climb near or just over 100
degrees. Winds will be breezy each afternoon out of the southeast
10-15 mph (particularly beginning Monday). A few gusts 20-30 mph
will be possible during the late morning/afternoon as well next
week.
Across the Brazos Valley, there will be the low potential (10-30%)
for isolated showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening
from Saturday into next week. There will be a low lightning
threat associated with this activity.
