...ELEVATED FIRE THREAT ACROSS ALL OF NORTH AND CENTRAL TEXAS...

Persistent hot and dry conditions have resulted in ample cured
grassy and brushy fuels available to burn across the region. While
temperatures will top 100 degrees, humidity values will drop to 20
to 25% in some areas along with breezy southerly winds which may
top 30 mph at times. These conditions will be favorable for an
increase in grass fire activity across the region this afternoon
and evening.

Extreme care is urged during all outside activities where there
is a potential for grass fires to get started. Avoid outside
burning and welding. Do not toss lit cigarette butts outside.
Report wildfires to the nearest fire department or law enforcement
office quickly.
