.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- A cold front is bringing scattered rain showers to the area
  through the early afternoon tomorrow.

- The Lake Wind Advisory for Fort Peck Lake continues through 5
  PM today.

- Small, scattered troughs will bring chances for precipitation
  early next week.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

A surface cold front is already south of HWY 2 to switch winds to
the north, with winds in the south still coming out of the west.
This front and an upper level shortwave trough are working
together to bring scattered rain and snow showers to the area
through Saturday afternoon. There is a small chance for freezing
rain tonight as surface temperatures cool closer to the freezing
temperature mark. Mostly cloudy skies are limiting warming
compared to yesterday.

The upper level pressure is expected to weaken Sunday night into
Wednesday. There are shortwave troughs that will move through this
broad trough pattern to bring scattered rain and snow showers to
the area with seasonable temperatures.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Kept deviations to winds and wind gusts through this evening by
maintaining a blend of higher resolution and 90th percentile
guidance for the frontal passage. Confidence is moderate for the
temperature pattern. There is moderate (50 percent) confidence of
precipitation amounts through tomorrow evening being below 0.05
inches, and low confidence for precipitation amounts beyond that
period.
