.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:
- Scattered pockets of a rain and snow mix are possible through
  this afternoon/evening.

- Cold temperatures will return tonight through Wednesday night.

- Periods of light snow remain possible for the weekend (Thursday
  through Sunday).

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
The more organized and consistent snowfall from this morning has
become a scattered mix of rain and snow this afternoon. A cold
front is already pushing southward across the international border
from Saskatchewan, which will diminish and push away remaining
precipitation southward tonight, although lingering isolated
flurries and a some light lake effect snowfall will be possible
into early Wednesday morning.

Wednesday through Thursday morning will be dry and cold before
warmer air moves back into the area later Thursday afternoon.

Thursday through this weekend, multiple embedded short-wave
disturbances from the Canadian Rockies will bring repeating
chances for snow across NE Montana, with details still a bit
unclear. At this time, model data continue to indicate that winter
weather impacts will be minimal. Stay tuned for more updates.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Today through tonight for precip and temperatures: High
confidence.

Wednesday through Thursday morning for temperatures: High to
moderate confidence.

Thursday through the weekend for precip: Average to low
confidence.
