Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Glasgow MT
123 PM MDT Fri Aug 22 2025

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:

- Mainly dry with light winds into next week with a gradual warm
  up.

- Monsoonal moisture may make a return late next week with above
  normal temperatures.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
An upper low over south-central Canada will pull away from the
area Saturday allowing for lighter winds and clear skies. Cooler
and drier air in place will allow for a cool night to for many
with lows in the 40s, except for areas near Fort Peck Lake.

An upper ridge building over the Pacific NW this weekend will not
move east much as the Canadian upper low will dig an upper trough
to our east. This will result in plenty of sunshine over northeast
Montana with light winds into the middle of next week.

On Thursday, monsoonal moisture will move into Montana from the
south and increase clouds. Temperatures will also rise but
shouldn`t be oppressive with highs in the 80s to near 90. Shower
chances look to be greatest over southern Montana late next week
and it may take an upper low from the Pacific to bring them into
our area beyond the forecast period or about next weekend.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Rode with the NBM but did knock them below NBM for temps tonight
with the clear skies and light winds. TFJ
