824 FXUS65 KGGW 120529 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 1129 PM MDT Fri Sep 11 2026 .KEY MESSAGES... - Possible rain across the northeast portion of Montana beginning Sunday afternoon and lasting overnight. - Sustained winds of 20 mph with potential gusts to 40 mph will likely result in conditions reaching Lake Wind Advisory criteria Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon. - A chance(10-30%) for showers overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday. && .DISCUSSION... An approaching upper-level low will continue transporting moisture into region, producing cloudy skies Saturday and possible rain across the northeast portion of Montana beginning Sunday afternoon and lasting overnight. Precipitation totals will range between 0.01" and 0.25". Sustained winds of 20 mph with potential gusts to 40 mph associated with the passage of the aforementioned low will likely result in conditions reaching Lake Wind Advisory criteria. Rough conditions will begin late Sunday afternoon with a SE wind, relax overnight, and resume for the duration of Monday with a W to NW wind. Wave heights have the potential to reach 4.5`. Tuesday Moving Forward: A weak ridging pattern will take place over Montana, although a brief influx of moisture will pose chances for showers overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday. There is uncertainty on rain amounts, but expect less than 0.05" at any given location as of the latest forecast. Beyond Tuesday, skies are anticipated to clear while temperatures warm slightly under continued weak ridging.
