Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Glasgow MT

.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Areas of low cloud cover and sprinkles will continue through
this evening before precipitation chances decrease tomorrow.

- Mild temperatures continue through Monday.

- Colder air moves in Monday night that is expected to linger
  through Thanksgiving.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Low cloud cover continues to remain over the area. Northwest winds
have picked up enough to mix some of the surface moisture away. A
Lake Wind Advisory is in effect until 5 PM for strong northwest
winds. There is a low (20 percent) probability of fog developing
again tonight before dissipating by late morning. After that, the
upper level pattern over the western states will generally keep
Montana under a ridge into the weekend. This maintains above
normal temperatures and dry weather through the weekend. Models
and ensembles are increasingly pointing toward a pattern change
early next week with much colder temperatures. There are wide
variations in precipitation potential in the models and ensembles
at this time for next week.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Made adjustments to winds on Day 1 into Day 2. Also added a chance
of PoPs through 12Z. The remainder of the forecast follows the
base NBM. There is low confidence of fog redeveloping late tonight
into tomorrow morning. There is high confidence of temperatures
dropping to near and below normal by Tuesday. There is moderate
confidence of precipitation occurring next week, with low
confidence on precipitation accumulation.
