.DISCUSSION...
A weak upper air disturbance passing over the region is bringing
some cloud cover to the fire this morning. This disturbance will
move eastward and out of the region so that clouds should exit by
late this morning. There will still be smoke in the air aloft and
near the surface from wildfires burning in the region. Otherwise,
today will be hot with a high temperature near 100F and minimum
relative humidity near 20 percent. Then early this evening,
another weak disturbance will bring a 30-40% chance of showers and
thunderstorms to the area. Storms early this evening will be
capable of producing erratic and strong wind gusts to 40-50 mph.
Any showers and storms should dissipate overnight. Then on
Wednesday, a weak cold front will cross the fire around 7 to 9 AM
MDT, causing a shift to northwesterly-northerly winds 8-12 mph,
gusting to 19 mph, lasting through much of the daytime hours.
Wednesday will still be hot with high temperature in the upper 90s
and minimum relative humidity near 20%. Another disturbance could
bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday
afternoon into the evening.
