771 FXUS63 KGID 020505 AFDGID Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Hastings NE 1205 AM CDT Sun Nov 2 2025 ...AVIATION UPDATE... .KEY MESSAGES... - Overall quiet weather is expected through next week. - Above normal temperatures are favored each day Sunday through Friday. A series of weak cold fronts will lead to some up and downs, though. - Winds remain relatively light through the week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 329 PM CDT Sat Nov 1 2025 Despite cooler-than-normal temperatures, clearing skies and decreasing winds has resulted in a fairly pleasant day as we kick off the month of November. A few high clouds will move through the area this evening into tonight, but temperatures are expected to dip below freezing across the area tonight into Sunday morning. Southerly winds return on Sunday as ridging builds over the central CONUS. This should help temperatures reach the 60s and even 70s in western zones. This significant warmup will result in humidity values down around 20 percent Sunday afternoon west of Highway 283, and occasional gusts over 20 MPH may result in elevated fire weather conditions. A cold front moves through Sunday night. This, combined with increased cloud cover, will knock temperatures back into the upper 50s and 60s for Monday. Temperatures then rebound the 60s and 70s on Tuesday but will be bumped back into the 50s on 60s on Wednesday as an upper shortwave pushes another cold front through the area. Ridging re-establishes for Thursday/Friday, and ensembles continue to show high confidence in dry conditions through the end of the week. The next potential for any precipitation would be Friday into next Saturday a stronger frontal system. Even then, potential is fairly low (5-15%), and details remain uncertain. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z MONDAY/... Issued at 1205 AM CDT Sun Nov 2 2025 For KGRI/KEAR Airports: High confidence VFR conditions are expected through the period with just some passing high clouds...mainly in the first 6 hours...and good VSBYS throughout. Could see some very marginal LLWS during the early morning hours as a weak LLJ develops across the area by around 02/09Z, but surface winds have already become southerly and they will likely increase to near 10 KTS over the next few hours, limiting the potential for any true LLWS. Winds should then increase a bit further during the daytime hours Sunday as the pressure gradient tightens a bit ahead of a cold front, with a few gusts to 20 KTS+ possible during the afternoon hours. The front will bring a shift to more northerly winds just beyond the current TAF period, although they will likely remain much lighter Monday. && .GID WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... NE...None.
