.DISCUSSION...
A surface cold front continues to push its way south through the
forecast area early this morning...and along with overall subtle
upper level forcing, chances for scattered showers and
thunderstorms will continue on today into tonight. There will be the
potential for some storms to be strong-severe...with large
hail/damaging wind gusts the primary threats. Behind this front
through the daytime hours today, expecting winds to be northeasterly.
Gusts around 20-25 MPH will be possible through roughly midday-early
afternoon, then should start to diminish from north to south.
Following highs in the 90s on Friday, temperatures today will be
cooler, with generally mid-70s across south central Nebraska...and
upper 70s-near 80 across north central Kansas.
