This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

- Thunderstorm potential today:
Although most places will remain thunderstorm-free, there is small
chance for an isolated thunderstorm south of the Nebraska- Kansas
border through around 7PM.

- Wildfire smoke potential this afternoon into tonight:
It is looking increasingly-likely that moderate concentrations of
wildfire smoke from well north of our region will arrive into our
forecast area late this afternoon into tonight, driven southward
by north winds behind a cold front. An Air Quality Alert is in
effect for portions of south central Nebraska east of Highway 281.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

- Thursday Wildfire smoke potential:
Wildfire smoke is expected to persist through at least late
morning within the Air Quality Alert area. Additional bouts of
smoke and reduced air quality could briefly impact areas west of
Highway 281 throughout the day, as well.

- Thursday evening and overnight thunderstorm potential:
Isolated to perhaps scattered thunderstorm activity appears
possible Thursday evening and overnight as another cold front
passes through. If storms develop into our area, it is possible
that a few could be strong. However, it`s also possible that
activity could hold off altogether until the overnight hours, in
which intensity would be much weaker.
