...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY
EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with widespread afternoon and
  early evening heat index values of 100 to 106 degrees,
  overall-worst on Friday and Saturday.

* WHERE...Jewell, Mitchell, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks, and Smith
  Counties.

* WHEN...From late Friday morning through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight temperatures will provide only
  limited relief from the heat, dropping no lower than the upper
  70s. However, it will be fairly windy out of the south each day,
  with persistent gusts of 30 to 40 MPH possibly providing some
  relief for those outdoors.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
