If thunderstorms can develop this evening...a few strong to severe
storms are possible across northwestern portions of the area. The
main concerns will be for large hail and damaging wind
gusts...though an isolated tornado cant be ruled out. Thunderstorm
chances will decrease across the area after midnight. Lows tonight
will be in the 70s with southerly winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts of
35 to 45 mph. A cold front will move through during the daytime
hours on Tuesday...with showers and thunderstorms developing behind
the cold front. A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible
Tuesday afternoon with the main concerns being for large hail and
damaging wind gusts. Rain chances become more widespread Tuesday
night as the cold front stall out across southeastern portions of
the area. Heavy rainfall is possible for areas that see multiple
rounds of thunderstorms. Showers and storms continue into Wednesday
with continued concerns for heavy rainfall. Wednesday will be
noticeably cooler...with highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s. Widespread
showers and thunderstorms continue Wednesday night with lows in the
50s and 60s. Overall...rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are expected
across the area...with accumulations of 2 to 4 inches possible for
areas that see the heaviest rainfall.
