.DISCUSSION...High pressure south of the forecast area will
continue to shunt moisture from the Mexican plateau to the west
while drier air moves eastward across the area on the northern
edge of the high. However, residual moisture remains sufficient
for scattered showers/thunderstorms over the higher terrain both
today and tomorrow. Above normal warmth persists through midweek.
By Wednesday, flow shifts to the south in response to a trough
reaching the West Coast, resulting in a surge of moisture which
will fuel widespread showers/storms through Thursday. Drying
begins Friday which will continue into the weekend.
