.DISCUSSION...Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms
are expected through Saturday favoring the higher terrain and
the southern mountains. Primary threats continue to be lightning
and strong outflow winds gusting 30-50 mph. Lightning starts are
still a concern mostly along and north of the I-70 corridor where
conditions remain drier. Chances for wetting rains increase today
in the southern mountains, spreading to the higher terrain of the
central and northern mountains Friday and Saturday. The weather
dries out Sunday into early next week with a return of near
critical fire weather conditions.
