.DISCUSSION...
Residual moisture lingering under this ridge of high pressure will
keep atmospheric moisture content abnormally high for this time
of year (ranging from 120 to 200 percent of normal). Expect isolated
showers and storms to flourish this evening and redeveloping Tuesday
afternoon. The next system digging into the PacNW on Wednesday will
eventually nudge high pressure to the east and allow eastern UT and
western CO to fall under a plume of Pacific and Gulf of Mexico
moisture. Expect an uptick in storm coverage mid week, thanks to
said mositure surge and passing trough through Thursday. Lingering
moisture pools over the region Friday and into Saturday, so anticipate
afternoon storms popping over higher terrain while valleys most likely
stay dry.
