Winter Weather Advisories continue today with snow gradually tapering off north of I-70 by late this afternoon. However, a surge of additional snowfall will work across the Central Mountains and the San Juans this afternoon and into the overnight hours. Advisories will continue overnight across our southern mountains. Snowpacked mountain passes can be expected for commuters this evening and early Thursday morning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Mostly sunny skies and cool conditions are expected across the region Thursday. A few remnant snow showers on the southern San Juans could produce another inch or so of snow, but that all wraps up Thursday afternoon. A persistent stretch of active weather and more snow for the northern mountains and down to the I-70 corridor is looking increasingly likely Friday and beyond. Steady northwest flow will keep temperatures on the cold side of climatology during this stretch. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however spotters are encouraged to report snowfall amounts to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction. $$
