...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN GARFIELD COUNTY
THROUGH 615 PM MDT...

At 542 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 9 miles south of New Castle, or 9 miles southwest of
Glenwood Springs, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Glenwood Springs and New Castle.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 105 and 114, and near
mile marker 116.
 Colorado 82 between mile markers 1 and 6.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
