...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of east central Colorado, including the
  following county, Kit Carson.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 849 AM MDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in
    Highway 24 between Burlington and Stratton due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 3
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Burlington and Bethune.
  - Running water, roughly four inches deep, has been reported to
    be flowing over the county roads to the east-northeast of
    Burlington.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
