.DISCUSSION...
Overall fire weather is forecast to take a back seat at least through
the weekend as closer to normal temperatures and multiple rounds of
wetting rain are forecast.
North-northeast winds are forecast through the remainder of the
afternoon with sustained winds of 10-15 mph; decreasing potential for
periodic wind gusts around 25 mph by late afternoon. Storms are
forecast to move in this evening and continue through the night. Be
aware for lightning which could still start new fires. Isolated
instances of severe weather are possible with gusts to 75 mph, large
hail and perhaps some blowing dust. Storms should eventually
transition to a heavy rainfall threat mid-late evening and overnight.
Winds shift to the northwest by sunrise Friday before shifting back
to the east by Friday afternoon. Wind speeds are forecast to remain
around 5-10 mph. Another round of rain is forecast Friday evening and
overnight as well. Severe weather is possible but should be less
potentially impactful than today with gusts to 60 mph and hail around
quarter size.
