.DISCUSSION...
Critical fire weather conditions are possible much of the week,
mainly Tuesday through Thursday, as drier air is forecast to move
into the area. Monday is forecast to not have critical fire weather
conditions, but is forecast to have fairly strong storms. Be alert
for supercells which may produce very large hail and maybe a tornado
or two. They can also produce wind gusts to 80 mph, along with
blowing dust. Fires may become difficult to see or control near
storms.
Tuesday, a system moves through the area and increases the winds from
out of the southwest to 20-30 mpg with gusts up to 50 mph. The
stronger winds should favor Eastern Colorado and adjacent counties
with speeds really increasing after about 8-9am local time. Relative
humidity is forecast to drop into the teens as temperatures climb
into the high 90s and 100s. The relative humidity should improve
close to sunset, but winds remain elevated until close to sunrise
Wednesday morning as a front switches winds to out of the northwest.
Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to continue the relative humidity
in the teens, but with wind gusts close to 25-35 mph.
