.DISCUSSION...
Some dense fog is possible across Nebraska zones 80 and 81 along with
Kansas zones 3 and 4 through mid morning Friday. A cold front is
forecast to move through the area Friday morning shifting winds to
the north before stalling out across the area; winds ahead of the
front are forecast to remain from the southwest potentially gusting
up to 25 mph. Storms are forecast to develop along the stalled out
boundary during the afternoon with cloud to ground lightning,erratic
strong winds, hail and perhaps a brief tornado initially. Remain
aware of outflows from storms which would shift winds suddenly and
perhaps bring some dust.
Winds Saturday are forecast to be breezier sustained at 15-25 mph
and gusting up to 35 mph across Colorado fire zones 252 and 253 which
is where at least elevated fire weather potential could materialize.
The big question for fire weather is if the moist conditions we have
experienced over the past week can linger another day or not. Spotty
afternoon storms are possible Saturday as well with lightning
currently the biggest concern.
Watching mid week for hot temperatures, breezy to gusty winds and
low to very low humidity across the area for potential fire weather
concerns.
