.DISCUSSION...
Scattered critical fire weather conditions are expected to become
more isolated throughout the rest of the afternoon as winds gradually
weaken. Gusts from the south in the 25-35 MPH range have been
occurring, but will become less common as temperatures continue to
rise this afternoon. RH values along and west of KS 27 are in
critical range and will remain that way until late this afternoon. We
are still expecting scattered storms this afternoon, which will lead
to strong, erratic winds and dry lightning. Blowing dust is also
possible and may lead to localized brownout conditions.
Hot and dry conditions are expected to return tomorrow, however winds
from the north will look to remain under 15-20 MPH, minimizing
critical fire weather threats. The heat persist through Tuesday, but
today looks to be the breeziest day. Daily chances at storms return
through most of the next week. Some relief is possible in the mid-
week.
