.DISCUSSION...
Today may see briefly critical fire weather conditions around the
Tri-State border area. Relative humidity is forecast to reach the low
teens by the afternoon hours. For now, the winds are forecast to be
10-20 mph with a few gusts to 25 mph in this area with the low
pressure system advancing. If the system slows, we may be able to
have more overlap with the dry air and wind gusts above 25 mph. The
rest of the area should see stronger winds with gusts around 30-35
mph.
Going into next week, moisture is forecast to return and increase
relative humidity. This should lower the fire danger concerns for
much of the upcoming week. In spite of the low level moisture
return though, precipitation chances currently remain on the low
side and won`t provide much help.
