Strong winds developed near the Colorado and Kansas border area
Monday evening and continue into the overnight hours. Wind gusts of
50 to 60 mph were common, with the highest gust of 65 mph recorded
near Brewster. Overnight temperatures were in the 70s.

OUTLOOK... a cold front will move through the area this morning
with winds shifting to the north behind it. A few showers are
possible this morning along the front, then thunderstorms will
develop this afternoon along it from Hays to Garden City. High
temperatures will range from the upper 70s behind the front to the
upper 80s ahead of it. Tonight, numerous showers and thunderstorms
will develop by late in the evening and continue through the
overnight. Locally heavy rainfall is possible in parts of
northwest Kansas. Lows will be in the 50s. Showers and
thunderstorms continue to be likely Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Highs will be in the 60s and lows Wednesday night in the 50s.
