The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Thomas County in northwestern Kansas...
  Northern Logan County in west central Kansas...

* Until 830 PM CDT.

* At 709 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 6 miles southwest of Brewster to 15 miles north of
  Wallace, moving east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Spotters reported 1 inch hail south of Goodland.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Colby and Menlo.

This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 36 and 75.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

These thunderstorms will produce strong winds resulting in areas of
near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must
travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility.

This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make
driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be
aware of rapidly changing road conditions.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
