838 FXUS63 KGRB 020456 AFDGRB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Green Bay WI 1056 PM CST Mon Dec 1 2025 Updated aviation portion for 06Z TAF issuance .KEY MESSAGES... - Light snow will move across central and east-central Wisconsin this this evening. Accumulations around half an inch are forecast, which could lead to scattered slippery stretches on roadways for the evening commute. - An arctic front will bring a chance of light snow Tuesday night into Wednesday, followed by the coldest air of the season so far. - Hazardous wind chills of 10 to 20 below zero are forecast for Thursday morning west of the Lake Michigan shoreline. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 248 PM CST Mon Dec 1 2025 Light snow is spreading across central and east-central WI this afternoon, with obs just starting to report snow in Green Bay in the last 30 minutes. This is in association with a mid-level trough coming through, but overall forcing is rather weak, and moisture is limited as most is going towards the stronger system moving across the central Plains into the Ohio River Valley. Therefore, while light snow remains through mid-late evening, only expecting around half an inch of accumulation or less. Northern/north-central WI will miss out an any snow, just remaining cloudy. Dry weather is expected Tuesday, followed by the chance (30-60%) for light snow on Tuesday night Wednesday in association with an arctic front coming through. Similar to today, forcing and moisture is not overly high, making for forecast snow amounts generally 1 inch or less. The bigger story with the arctic front will be the temperature drop, with lows Thursday morning falling to the single digits below zero for most away from the immediate lake shore. In combination with a steady NW wind, wind chill values of 10 to 20 below are likely throughout Thursday morning. Highs on Thursday will then struggle to reach the teens. Readings moderate some the rest of the week, but remain below normal for early December. There are chances for snow again Friday and into the weekend as various features quickly pass through the state, but confidence is low in any details at this point due to lack of timing and location specifics. && .AVIATION...for 06Z TAF Issuance Issued at 1056 PM CST Mon Dec 1 2025 The widespread area of light snow and flurries will continue to slowly end from northwest to southeast across the region late this evening. As the snow ends, look for low clouds (IFR/MVFR with patchy LIFR) to remain across central and north central WI (AUW/CWA/RHI) into Tuesday (with a brief period of just mid-clouds late this evening). Across eastern WI (ATW/GRB/MTW), MVFR and some IFR clouds will move in, but some breaks in the low clouds are expected, mainly late this evening into Tuesday morning. The breaks in the clouds could allow for very patchy fog to develop. Some flurries can`t be ruled out in any of the low clouds overnight into Tuesday. Any breaks in the clouds will fill back in on Tuesday afternoon as another weak system approaches from the west. This system will spread another round of light snow from west to east across the area after 00-03z Wednesday. Winds will remain on the light side overnight, mainly out of the SW/W. SW winds will increase Tuesday morning with gusts to around 15 kts expected by Tuesday afternoon. && .GRB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... None. && $$ DISCUSSION.....KLJ AVIATION.......Bersch
