.DISCUSSION...
Record high temperatures are likely this afternoon with readings
reaching the mid to upper 80s for many, and even around 90 in
portions of central WI to the Fox Valley. Winds increase from the
south this afternoon, before peaking Sunday afternoon. Gusts of
20 to 30 mph occur today, with more widespread gusts of 30-35 mph
on Sunday. Min RH values will drop to 30-35% this afternoon and
Sunday afternoon in the sandy soil areas. The stronger winds will
result in elevated fire weather potential, especially on Sunday as
there will be an increased risk of power line fires. Showers may
shift into northern WI as early as late afternoon on Sunday. Most
areas will see at least scattered showers and isolated storms
Sunday night through Monday as a cold front arrives from the west.
Much cooler temperatures return behind the front early next week, with
the risk for frost increasing over northern to far northeast WI
Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
