.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 320 AM EDT Fri Aug 29 2025

- Fair and Cool Weekend

Surface high pressure builds over the central Great Lakes over the
weekend with dry and cool weather. Lows tonight will again fall
into the upper 30s across the interior cold hollows with 40s
elsewhere. There will be a slow modification of temperatures
through early next week.

- Next chance for Rain is Wednesday

After a brief period of upper height rises and ridging early next
week, another upper low dives southeast from Canada and carves
out a longwave trough across the central and eastern CONUS by late
in the week. The trough axis and a surface low trailing a cold
front moves through on Wednesday into Thursday with showers and
possibly thunderstorms by Wednesday afternoon. Diurnally driven
showers with some lake enhancement are possible on Thursday into
Friday with the upper low providing steep mid level lapse rates.
