For the following areas... Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Holland MI... At 645 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 20 nm west of Saugatuck Pier Heads to 15 nm northwest of St. Joseph Light, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... South Haven Light, St. Joseph Light, and St. Joseph. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts that can result in locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.
