...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Nuisance flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of western North Carolina, including the
  following counties, Henderson and Polk and upstate South Carolina,
  including the following county, Greenville.

* WHEN...Until 600 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  River or stream flows are elevated, including the North Pacolet
  River, Green River, and their tributaries.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 201 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2.5 and 4.5 inches of
    rain have fallen. Additional rainfall will be light this
    morning, but runoff from the earlier rainfall will result in
    nuisance flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Tryon, Saluda, North Saluda Reservoir and Tuxedo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

When it is safe to do so, please report flooding or landslides
threatening roads or property to the National Weather Service
Greenville-Spartanburg by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1,
by posting on our Facebook page, or via X using hashtag NWSGSP. Your
message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred
and the depth of flooding observed.
