North Carolina, western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected across the area
today in advance of a cold front. The main threats will be from
frequent cloud to ground lightning and torrential rainfall. However, a
few isolated severe storms producing brief damaging wind gusts and
perhaps isolated large hail are possible this afternoon, especially
across the Piedmont.
